In the Harvard Business Review of June 2012, Marcus Buckingham published an article about leadership development. In that article he writes that much of the leadership training is about distilling what good leaders are doing and then teaching others those principles. Marcus says the problem with this is that it assumes all leaders are the same. They are not. In everything else today people are treated and dealt with according to their individuality but leadership training tends to treat everybody the same.
