IHS 12 – Influence for non-influeners


John Maxwell’s second irrefutable law of leadership is leadership is influence. Leadership isn’t about position. It is about influence. In the last post I looked at those who have a majority of influencing talents. These people are natural leaders. These people are the minority. What about the rest of us?

Proverbs 22:29 says, ‘Do you see someone who works skilfully? This person will stand in the presence of kings rather than with obscure people.’ The idea of this verse is that the more skilful you get at doing something more people will be interested in what you do. If you become very skilful then even the most influential people in the country will be interested. In other words the more skilful you become with something the more influence that will give you.
